Doing Business with the Forest Preserve District

While Forest Preserve District of DuPage County employees perform most of the maintenance and operation of District land and facilities, the District may employ contractors for large construction or restoration projects.

The Forest Preserve District purchases required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, the DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners and administrative policies. The District makes requirements for purchases under $20,000 in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. For purchases over $20,000, it advertises formal bid announcements in local newspapers and may also list them in the Current Bid and Proposal Announcements section below.

When a supplier is aware of a solicitation, it should contact the office listed on the announcement to request a bid document. The Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects.

Mayslake Forest Preserve: Peabody Estate, Reproduction Lighting

Release of bid: May 10, 2013

Bid due: 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013

BID NOTICE

Sealed bids will be received at the main office of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, 3S580 Naperville Road, Wheaton, Illinois, 60189-8761 until 2:30 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 and will be publicly opened at that time and location, for a project entitled "Mayslake Forest Preserve: Peabody Estate, Reproduction Lighting." Main components of work involve the manufacturing and delivery to the project site in Oak Brook, Illinois, of three (3) brass chandeliers with matte black finish, seven (7) brass wall sconces with matte black finish and four (4) brass curved-bracket wall sconces with satin nickel finish. Installation shall be completed by the District. Consideration of contract award will likely be made on Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

Plans, specifications, and bid forms may be picked up on CD-ROM at the main office of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County at 3S580 Naperville Road between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mon.-Fri. The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. The Architectural Consultant’s estimate is approximately $28,000.00. The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is soliciting Statements of Qualifications and Performance Data (SQPD) in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/4 et seq) from Architectural, Engineering and Land Surveying Services AND, other Professional Consultants interested in being considered for District projects.
