Doing Business with the Forest Preserve District

While Forest Preserve District of DuPage County employees perform most of the maintenance and operation of District land and facilities, the District may employ contractors for large construction or restoration projects.

The Forest Preserve District purchases required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, the DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners and administrative policies. The District makes requirements for purchases under $20,000 in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. For purchases over $20,000, it advertises formal bid announcements in local newspapers and may also list them in the Current Bid and Proposal Announcements section below.

When a supplier is aware of a solicitation, it should contact the office listed on the announcement to request a bid document. The Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

Current Bid and Proposal Announcements

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects.

DUNHAM FOREST PRESERVE HABITAT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT — BRUSH AND TREE REMOVAL

Bid Due: 2014-12-17, 11 A.M.

Bid Open: 2014-12-17, 11:05 A.M.

Notice is hereby given that the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, Illinois, will receive sealed bids for the project titled “Dunham Forest Preserve Habitat Improvement Project- Brush And Tree Removal.” Sealed bids will be received at 3S580 Naperville Road, Wheaton, Illinois 60189 until 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The bids must be accompanied by a 10% bid security. Main components of work involve removal of invasive trees.

A mandatory, pre-bid conference will be held at Dunham Forest Preserve (~2.25 Miles West of Rt. 59 on Army Trail Rd., south side of road) on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, 10 a.m. local time. Representatives must be signed in by 10 a.m. and must stay the entire time to fulfill the mandatory pre-bid conference requirement. The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
