Doing Business with the Forest Preserve District

While Forest Preserve District of DuPage County employees perform most of the maintenance and operation of District land and facilities, the District may employ contractors for large construction or restoration projects.

The Forest Preserve District purchases required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, the DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners and administrative policies. The District makes requirements for purchases under $20,000 in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. For purchases over $20,000, it advertises formal bid announcements in local newspapers and may also list them in the Current Bid and Proposal Announcements section below.

When a supplier is aware of a solicitation, it should contact the office listed on the announcement to request a bid document. The Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

Current Bid and Proposal Announcements

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects.

Danada House Foyer Floor Improvement Project

Bid Due: 2016-10-24, 10 a.m.

Bid Open: 2016-10-24, 10:05 a.m.

Sealed bids for a project titled "Danada House Foyer Floor Improvement Project” will be received at the Office of Field Operations ‒ Facilities Management, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, 29W400 Mack Road, West Chicago, IL 60185 until 10 a.m. Oct. 24, 2016. Contractor shall furnish and pay for all required materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals, unless otherwise provided in the contract, and shall include the cost of these items in the prices bid for the several units of work, as specified. Bids must be accompanied by a 10% bid security.

Project shall include the following:
All labor, material(s), equipment, mobilization and all other necessary overhead to facilitate the removal and disposal of all existing flooring material, components and subcomponents; an inspection of the substructure identifying any damage, imperfection, or fault that could impact the longterm integrity of the replacement flooring system. Prior to demolition, accurate (to a minimum of a 1/16”) dimensioned drawings shall be prepared. Plans must dimension all tile including but not limited to tile joints, tile sizes, thresholds, stairs, wall base and base shoe; and face of interior walls. Provide and install new stone flooring system, as outlined in project specification.

An awardee must submit all required documentation including, but not limited to the required insurance, Prevailing Wage Act documentation, subcontractor’s list, performance and payment bonds per the Invitation to bid. The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities. This solicitation does not commit the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County to award a contract, to pay any cost incurred in the preparation of a bid or to procure or contract for the articles of goods or services. The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County reserves the right to cancel in part or in its entirety these bids if it is in the best interest of the District to do so.
