Doing Business with the Forest Preserve District

While Forest Preserve District of DuPage County employees perform most of the maintenance and operation of District land and facilities, the District may employ contractors for large construction or restoration projects.

The Forest Preserve District purchases required goods and services in conformance with Illinois state law, the DuPage County Purchasing Ordinance, related resolutions of the Board of Commissioners and administrative policies. The District makes requirements for purchases under $20,000 in accordance with established procedures for small-dollar purchases and informal quotations. For purchases over $20,000, it advertises formal bid announcements in local newspapers and may also list them in the Current Bid and Proposal Announcements section below.

When a supplier is aware of a solicitation, it should contact the office listed on the announcement to request a bid document. The Forest Preserve District Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently seeking bids and proposals on the following projects.

Online Auction Of Surplus Vehicles And Equipment Starts April 28

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will be auctioning off surplus vehicles and equipment beginning April 28 using www.govdeals.com/dupageforest as our host auctioning site. The first auction will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 and continue for 8 days, ending at staggered intervals the evening of Monday, May 5. 

Other auctions will run throughout the months of May and June, also using www.govdeals.com/dupageforest, with each auction consisting of a portion of the items already approved to sell. Lists of items to be auctioned, as well as auction dates, times and auction site links will be updated on a regular basis at www.dupageforestauction.com

Viewing will be by appointment only for those items being sold at an active auction by calling our Fleet Services department at (630) 580-7100 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Bid Proposal And Specifications For The Suppy Of Bituminous Paving Materials

Bid Notice

Sealed bids for a project titled “BID PROPOSAL AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SUPPLY OF BITUMINOUS PAVING MATERIALS“ will be received at the Headquarters of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, 3S580 Naperville Rd., Wheaton, Illinois, 60189, until 10 a.m. local time, Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud in the same location at 10:10 a.m.

Consideration of contract award will be made by the District’s Board of Commissioners. Paper copies of the Specifications and bid forms as well as the required bid envelope may be obtained at the District Headquarters’ address below upon request and with 24-hour advance notice during regular District Headquarter’s business hours. Bidders will be required to submit all associated forms in the District provided sealed envelope with their bid including but not limited to: Bid Proposal Form, Bidder’s Qualification Statement, Bidder’s Affidavit, guarantee or warranty information, a detailed product specification, and Bidder’s Sub-Contractors list, as applicable. Contractor must provide labor, equipment and supplies as described in the bid packet, as applicable.  Within 15 calendar days of identifying the lowest responsible bidder, that bidder will be required to submit: Signed Contract.

The Forest Preserve Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities.
